The GOP Is Mainstreaming Islamophobia

Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles tweeted this out first thing Monday morning, creating an immediate firestorm on social media.

When I saw it, I immediately reached out to my editors at MS NOW and (successfully) pitched a piece about what he wrote and my general sense that the House Republican caucus is much more openly and unabashedly embracing anti-Muslim prejudice.

In reporting the column, I was legitimately stunned at what I found.
