In the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, this week, there is so much anger and despair in the country about the constant drumbeat of gun violence in America — and our seeming powerlessness to stop it. The question now is, what can we do, as citizens, to change things? There are few better people to talk about this subject than Shannon Watts, who founded the gun control group Moms Demand Action in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012. Since then Moms Demand Action has become one of the most effective gun control advocacy organizations in the country.
That’s why I’m so excited that Shannon will be joining me today for my weekly Truth and Consequences Zoom Chat at 12:30 PM. You can click the link here. If you can’t make the chat today, I will send out the audio of our conversation to everyone — both paid and free subscribers. I look forward to seeing you in a few hours!
For some background on Shannon, you can read this 2020 MSNBC profile of her — or check out the work that Moms Demand Action is doing around the country to curb gun violence. You can also read my latest post on the Uvalde shooting — and the response to it — here.
Good read looking forward to zoom- thank you
