I’m not sure the problem is pessimism among Democrats about Joe Biden, although there is plenty of that. The real problem is that a Trump victory, particularly if the Republicans take both houses of Congress, would be catastrophic. Trump would rip the guts out of the federal agencies, and bend all of them to his will, including a highly politicized, Attorney General and department of justice. The Country would become unrecognizable.

The fact that a Trump win would be catastrophic is why I tend to like Biden's chances.
