You know, I was thinking again of what you wrote yesterday, namely that Trump "is the dumbest fucking person on the face of the planet." I really think that's unfair to Tommy Tuberville.
Totally a performance for uninformed supporters. Pretend there's a crisis, pretend what's already happening is some new solution, pretend all the posturing accomplished something. I think it's a smokescreen for Elon and whatever the hell is going on at Treasury.
Is there something similar that can be done about RFK and national health for example?
When our kids ask us, we need to have something to tell them beyond how scary all this is. Like this is what we do about it, which Senator is doing what strategically smart thing and how to support them. Well, that's what I'm looking for.
If Democratic leaders don't show up with volume and strategy soon, 47 feet in mouth and his followers will do fine because alternatives won't be clear.
The water release in California matters. It goes to central valley and will evaporate before it's needed by farmers there. When summer comes the farmers who grow our food will be stuck. California growers are growing food for most of us.
Dear Michael: I'd be grateful if you could unpack this for me. I don't understand it as written: "I said yesterday that Trump is an idiot — and I stand by that. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s stupid."
David, I owe you a longer answer on this .. but the bottom line, Trump is a moron, but even morons understand that if you touch a hot stove, you'll get burned. The tariff war was threatening to burn him ... so he backed off. He's not stupid enough to hold his hand on a hot stove -- just dumb enough to get in the position where he might.
The cartoon is cute but Trump will call it a big win and 70+ million people will believe him. I think we, and I mean we as a nation, are permanently screwed.

Never underestimate the ignorance of the average American voter

Trump dumb or insane or not or why he does things doesn't help us figure out what we to do about this.
We need to be figuring out who and what to support. Please write on who is doing anything that may work.
Here's an example https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2025/02/04/sen-shatz-calls-blanket-hold-trump-admin-nominees-amid-usaid-protests/
